Primary Function:

The AC is accountable for meeting established headcount, FTE, and tuition-revenue goals for a tuition-driven institution by working to manage the entire enrollment life cycle in alignment with accountabilities and conversion benchmarks. The AC demonstrates a sustained commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion, and works to ensure compliance with UIS, UI System, state and federal policies and prescribed professional guidelines. 

 

 

1. In order to achieve/exceed headcount, FTE, and tuition-revenue goals, the AC will provide admissions counseling and oversee a specific population, enrollment status (es), outreach medium/media, or student/gatekeeper (types), like? veterans, historically underrepresented groups (HUG), or geographic territories, including, primarily IL (particularly Chicago, Peoria and Springfield), IA, IN, KY, MO and WI).

2. The AC works in a data-driven, integrated marketing communications environment by becoming proficient in Slate and learning how to optimize its use to identify, define and segment prospective student populations to deliver distilled, targeted and compelling messages to domestic and international, families and gatekeepers, veterans, potential first-generation grads, prospective residents, etc.

3. The AC works closely, collaboratively and well with all in the office, the unit and the three divisions of the universities – the Chancellor’s division, and academic and student affairs – and select external schools, businesses, community organizations and other current/potential partners. Under the supervision and guidance of the DA/ADA, the AC may be asked to create and manage lasting partnerships and positive constituent relationships or projects. The AC will learn how to help identify, and steward innovative recruitment and outreach partnerships. The AC may be asked to be present and visible in select communities.

4. The AC participates in efforts to hire and support staff and commits to growing as an EM professional. The AC hones presentation and storytelling skills, and adheres to standards that give each prospective student (their family and those that serve them) optimal customer service in every (on- and off-campus, or online) interaction, from awareness through the drop-add date. The AC may also supervise student workers, and, as such should meet regularly with them to review individual, and team work activities and progress. The AC will help the ADA/DA focus on new staff welcome, orientation and on-boarding. As such, the AC works to stay current with university activities, and the accomplishments of alumni, faculty, students and staff? as well as, local, regional, national and global issues that impact EM.

5. Other related duties as assigned, including membership on various committees. As needed, this position may be required to step in and perform the duties and responsibilities of additional staff. 

 

 

Qualifications/minimum education and work experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Excellent written, oral communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively
  • Willingness to work hours other than standard business hours, including holidays and weekends and perform recruitment travel as required
  • Comfort and ease with admission counseling via significant phone and email use

Preferred Experience

  • Bilingual, preferably Spanish
  • Familiarity with
    • A range of common enrollment management information technology (e.g. internet research, MS Office, social media, website content management, ERP/CRM databases, data presentation tools like Tableau/Power BI, and e-apps and forms);
    • Any of the populations that are a UIS institutional priority
    • Community colleges
    • Slate and Banner
    • Staff supervision
    • College/university admission

 

 

Salary lower:  $35,568.00
