Systems Management

  • Monitors all scholarship accounts through the awarding process by working with the Office of Financial Assistance and various units through providing award amount totals, award worksheets, databases and downloads needed. 
  • Manages the gift account creation process by working with gift processing staff, Advancement staff and UIS units in need of accounts created.  Monitors requests for complete creation of Foundation and University (Banner) accounts.  Regular monitoring of accounts for correct pledge application and completion and also updating of sweep designation once an account reaches endowment level. 
  • Updates the Office of Financial Assistance annually regarding new or changing scholarship status including additions to the annual institution’s scholarship application
  • Reviews gift accounts quarterly for accumulations and deficits in compliance to auditing requirements 
  • Attends Foundation, University and campus training session and meetings, as needed (both on and off campus); other duties as assigned 

Stewardship and Recognition

  • Works directly with Advancement staff once a major gift is completed or pledged to provide a smooth transition to stewardship for the donor(s) through the creation of a stewardship plan when needed. 
  • Coordinates the UIS scholarship bio and thank you letter process with Advancement staff annually including the entry of annual stewardship plans into the Tracking and Engagement Database (TED) 
  • Provides support for annual UIS Scholarship Luncheon development 
  • Monitors giving totals for campus donors to update recognition walls and plaques throughout campus and provides support to Advancement and campus staff for recognition events celebrating gifts.
  • Staffs Division of Advancement events on an as needed and performs other duties as assigned. 

     

CREDENTIALS TO BE VERIFIED BY PLACEMENT OFFICER

  1. Bachelor’s degree.
  2. A total of one (1) year (12 months) in education, training and/or work experience in the area of specialization inherent to the position such as experience in business or higher education. (Note: Master’s Degree in an area consistent with the duties of the position may be substituted for one (1) year of work experience.)

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Experience with Microsoft Office and other databases
  2. An understanding of mathematical concepts
  3. Former employment in an area which utilizes business concepts
